Woman, 28, charged over incidents of extortion in Aberdeen

A 28-year-old woman has been charged by police in connection with several incidents of extortion in the King Street area of Aberdeen.

The crimes are alleged to have happened last month and this month.

The woman is expected to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court today.

PC Louise Calder, of Queen Street police office, said: "I’d like to thank members of the public for coming forward and assisting us with our enquiries in this case.

"It is vital that we ensure the vulnerable people in our communities are kept safe from these types of incidents. If you suspect that someone you know is being taken advantage of, I urge you to report your concerns to police and 101 and they will be investigated."
