Warning of flooding and difficult driving conditions as Storm Gerrit hits

Winds of up to 70 miles an hour are set to batter the country tomorrow as Storm Gerrit hits.

It's led to the Met Office issuing a yellow weather warning from 3am until the end of the day.

Another is also in force from 6am for rain and snow. It ends at 9pm.

As much as 70 millimetres of rain and 15 centimetres of snow is forecast, with the risk of blizzard like conditions on high ground.

The Met Office says they could bring flooding and difficult driving conditions.

It also warns of power cuts and travel delays.

Sepa has also issued a flood alert for most of Scotland.
