Two suffer serious injuries in Aberdeenshire crash

Two people have suffered serious injuries after a crash on the A90 in Aberdeenshire.

It happened south of Ellon, at the junction with the B90000 near Tipperty, at around 10.20pm yesterday and involved a black BMW 318 and a red Ford Fiesta.

A 23-year-old woman, a passenger in the Fiesta, and a 29-year old man, the driver of the BMW, were both taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The 24-year-old driver of the Fiesta was also taken to hospital with minor injuries. The 28-year-old passenger of the BMW was not injured.

The southbound carriageway was closed for almost 12 hours as police carried out investigation work.

Sergeant Craig McNeill said: "Our inquiries into the crash are ongoing and I would urge anyone who may have seen what happened or the cars involved prior to the crash or earlier in the evening to get in touch.

"In addition we are asking anyone with dashcam footage who may have been travelling in the area at the time to check for anything that may help our investigation to also get in touch.”
