Two charged in connection with thefts in Aberdeenshire

A 21 year old man and 26 year old woman have been charged in connection with a number of thefts in the St Cyrus area of Aberdeenshire.

They happened in the early hours of Sunday.

The incidents include stealing vehicles in Long Row and both stealing and attempting to steal stuff from inside others in Mercury Terrace, Dowry Crescent and Station Road.

They were due in court yesterday (January 30) and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.

Enquiries are ongoing to trace two other men.

Detective Constable Jake Balderson said: “We know that acquisitive crime such as having your car or personal items taken can have a real impact on victims.

“This type of behaviour has no place in our communities and we are committed to disrupting and reducing this criminality.

“Information from members of the public is vital in our efforts to tackle acquisitive crime and I would urge anyone with information or concerns to contact Police Scotland on 101 or speak to Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
