Turriff gets permanent home for Ambulance to combat waiting times

Turriff's dedicated ambulance - which had been operating out of Banff since June - now has an official home at the Fife Street Fire Station.

It is hoped the ambulance can combat rising waiitng times, which ambulance service figures show are two times higher than the rest of the region.

Serving Turriff Residents

Banff and Buchan MP David Duguid welcomed the news.

Mr Duguid said: "This has been a long time coming and something I've been campaigning for with the local community since not long after I was elected in 2017.

"The residents of Turriff and the residents and businesses in the huge, rural area surrounding Turriff have seen far higher ambulance waiting times than should be expected.

"I'm hopeful that having this additional ambulance should help reduce those waiting times."
