Sturgeon: This week may be too early to lift Aberdeen lockdown

The first minister has hinted that Aberdeen may stay in lockdown for a third consecutive week.

Restrictions were imposed on the city 12 days ago in response to an outbreak associated with several bars and restaurants.

Hospitality businesses have had to remain shut since, and people can only travel up to five miles for leisure or recreation purposes.

There is also a ban on indoor meetings other than for those who are part of an extended household.

Nicola Sturgeon says the rate of new cases in the Grampian area is slowing, but that they have yet to see the full impact of the restrictions.

The current rules will be reviewed on Wednesday.
