ScotRail's normal timetable returns

ScotRail's full timetable is back today for the first time in nearly two months.

A temporary timetable was implemented in May due to a driver shortage as drivers were not working overtime or on rest days.

But last week, members of the ASLEF union agreed a 5% pay deal with the rail operator, meaning services have now been able to go back to what it normally was before the temporary timetable had to be introduced.

Hundreds of rail services are now running once again.

Phil Campbell, who is the head of customer operations at ScotRail, says there are new drivers in the workforce after disruption to their training caused by the coronavirus pandemic:
