Pregnant sheep worth thousands stolen from north-east farm

Nearly 20 pregnant sheep have been stolen from a north-east farm.

Police are appealing for any information and witnesses after 19 pregnant ewes were taken from Berryleas near Fordyce, Banff.

It is understood planning of the theft would have taken some time and vehicles would have been needed to transport the sheep away from the area.

The sheep are valued at around £3000 - the incident happened between December 5 and January 22.

Officers are calling on the public to provide any detail if they saw anything to get in touch.

PC Cook - the inquiry officer - said: “I would urge people to be extra vigilant and take measures and precautions to protect your property.

“We take every opportunity to share knowledge and information with officers across the force area to minimise and prevent the number of crimes that take place.”

Anyone with information should contact police on 101 quoting incident reference number CF0019140121.
