Police hunt man after break-in and theft at Stonehaven premises

Police have launched an appeal for information after a break-in and theft at a premises in Stonehaven.

It happened around 4.30am last Saturday (4 December) at a premises in the town's Brickfield Road.

A man is said to have gained access to the premises and left with a three figure sum of coins.

The suspect is described as around 5 foot 7 inches in height.

Officers say that he was wearing a hooded tracksuit top and bottoms, a beanie hat and a gilet/body warmer.

Constable Robert Philips of Police Scotland's Stonehaven Community Policing Team said: "We are carrying out extensive enquiries and are appealing for anyone who has any information or who may have seen someone matching the description above to get in touch.

"I would also ask local businesses to be aware of anyone trying to exchange sums of coins."
