Police appeal after woman assaulted in Aberdeen

Police in Aberdeen are appealing for information after a woman was assaulted in the city's Rosemount area.

The incident happened on Westburn Road at around 10.30pm on Sunday (February 28).

The victim, a 30-year-old woman, was left shaken by the incident.

The suspect is described as being a man, black, around 6ft tall and of average build, with short shaved hair and a non-British accent. He was wearing a black top and jacket, with black tracksuit bottoms which had a white stripe down both legs. He was riding a pedal cycle.

Detective Sergeant Kevin McGhee, from the Aberdeen public protection unit, said: "We have had no similar incidents like this reported and are conducting extensive inquiries to identify the man as soon as possible.

"We are urging anyone who can help to please come forward. If you were in the area of Westburn Road, heading towards Westburn Park, around the time of the incident, think back and let us know if you remember seeing a man matching this description.

"Anyone with information can call police on 101, quoting incident 3001 of March 1. Alternatively, you can contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, if you wish to remain anonymous."
