North-east campaigners wanting re-opening of railway linking Peterhead and Fraserburgh to Aberdeen meet Transport Minister

Campaign for North East Rail hope to emulate the success of the Levenmouth Rail Campaign in Fife

Campaigners in the north-east calling for a rail link to re-open connecting Peterhead and Fraserburgh to Aberdeen have met Scotland's Transport Minister today.

Campaign for North East Rail and Jenny Gilruth MSP walked a section of the old Peterhead and Fraserburgh line this morning.

They also met a number of the region's MSP from across the political parties and aim to secure support from the north-east's business community.

The campaigners want to emulate the success of the Levenmouth Rail Campaign in Fife, with a rail link there to re-open in 2024.
