A 22-year-old motorcyclist has died following a crash on the A92 Aberdeen to Stonehaven road.

The incident happened at around 3.40pm on Friday, 22 September, southbound near to Nigg Way and involved a grey Nissan Qashqai and a black Honda 900 Fireblade motorcycle.

Emergency services attended but the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin has been made aware.

The driver of the Nissan, a 59-year-old man, was checked at the scene by the Scottish Ambulance Service but did not require hospital treatment.

The road was closed for crash investigation work to be carried out.

Now officers are appealing for witnesses to come forward to help with their enquiries.

Sergeant Alexander Bowser-Riley said: “Our thoughts are with the family of the man who died and our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.

“Anyone who saw what happened or who has dash-cam footage that could help with our investigation is asked to get in touch.

“In particular we are keen to speak to anyone who may have been travelling on Anderson Drive in the half hour prior to the crash happening to contact us if they have footage or any other information.”
