Man seriously injured in road crash

Police are appealing for information after a man was left with serious injuries when he was hit by a car which was being pursued by officers.

At around 2pm on Monday afternoon, a black Seat Leon Cupra was pursued by the police after failing to stop in the Northfield area of Aberdeen.

The car later struck a 48-year-old pedestrian on Great Northern Road and he was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The vehicle was found abandoned in St Machar Place soon after and police are asking for help to trace the driver and a passenger.

Detective Inspector Jamie Sherlock said: “Our enquiries into this incident are ongoing and we urge anyone who may have seen what happened to get in touch. In particular, we ask anyone with dash-cam footage of the Seat, before and after the crash, to contact officers."
