LNER urges customers and organisations close to its north-east route to apply for Customer and Community Investment Fund

London North Eastern Railway is urging customers and organisations close to its route in the north-east to apply for the Customer and Community Investment Fund before this month's deadline.

Applications are being accepted only until 31 July, with the fund supporting projects where there is an identified social need and that focus on mental health, education and employability skills amongst marginalised groups within 15 miles of the rail operator's route.

LNER trains stop in the region at Aberdeen and Stonehaven.

Aberdeen Samaritans said on Twitter last year it got funding from the rail operator to produce a short film about mental health.
