Kayaks 'stolen from across the UK' found in Aberdeenshire

Police say kayaks and other equipment discovered in Aberdeenshire may have been stolen from locations across the UK in recent years.

Officers made the discovery at a rural property in Inverurie last Monday, after the items were found and reported.

They are now trying to identify and contact the owners of the equipment.

Constable Chris Williamson, from Inverurie police station, said: "It is suspected that the items were stolen from various kayaking clubs and events from across the UK, likely over a period of time.

"With that in mind, we are asking for anyone who has had kayaks or kayaking equipment stolen over the last few years to please get in contact.

"If you have any information which could assist our enquiries, call police on 101, quoting incident 2034 of April 19."
