Mr Shaw says it's not just about the day itself, but the hard work it takes all year round.

Britain is Bloom is organised by the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) and is the top competition for gardeners alike.

Major winners from regional competitions, such as the Beautiful Scotland, are then put forward for the UK-wide finals.
