Friends of Duthie Park 'delighted' their Christmas Carol event returns

Friends of Duthie Park are hosting their annual Christmas carol event in full for the first time since the pandemic.

The charitable organisation will host three concerts in the David Welch Winter Gardens tomorrow afternoon.

They will be held at 11am, 12.15pm and 3pm and the charity are urging people to arrive early to not miss out.

We spoke to Dave Macdermid who is thrilled the event is back:

Committee members are also calling on the public to donate to their Christmas foodbank appeal with items such as tinned goods, packaged and jars of food, toiletries an staple items such as tea, coffee and sugar.

They run their appeal each year and kept the service running throughout the Covid-19 pandemic.

Once all good are received, the Friends of Duthie Park will deliver them to CFine who will then in turn distribute to those who need the extra bit of help during the festive period.

Mr Macdermid hopes anyone can give anything they can:

Anyone who wants to make a donation before the concerts should contact Arthur Gill at ArGill@aberdeencity.gov.uk.

Alternatively, you can drop off any items at the Duthie Park Ranger Service Pavilion.
