Four people taken to hospital following Aberdeenshire crash

Four people have been taken to hospital following a three-vehicle crash in Aberdeenshire.

Emergency services received reports of the incident at around 9.45am this morning (Tuesday, September 26). It happened on the B9001 road between Inverurie and Rothienorman. 

Three people also had to be cut from their cars by the fire service. They were then handed into the care of the ambulance service. 

Officers from Police Scotland were also in attendance. 

The extent of their injuries is not known. 

A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We received a call at 09.45 to attend a three vehicle RTC on the B9001 near Rothienorman. Four ambulances, two special operations response teams (SORT), and a trauma team were dispatched to the scene. Four patients were transported to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary."

A spokesperson from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: "We were alerted at 9.47am on Tuesday, 26 September, to reports of a road traffic collision involving three vehicles on the B9001 road between Inverurie and Rothienorman, Aberdeenshire.

"Operations Control mobilised three fire appliances and specialist resources to the scene, where firefighters extricated three casualties from their vehicles, and handed them into the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service.

"Crews left once ensuring the area had been made safe. "
