Five taken to hospital after crash on A90

Five people were taken to hospital yesterday evening after a crash on the A90 in Aberdeenshire.

The incident, involving a white Audi A5 and a white Vauxhall Astra, happened near Rathen at around 5.50pm.

The 50-year-old male driver of the Audi was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary with serious injuries, as was the 27-year-old female driver of the Vauxhall Astra. Three children, who were in the Astra, were also taken to hospital for treatment.

Sergeant Scott Deans, of Police Scotland’s Road Policing Unit, said: "Our thoughts are with the families involved in this collision, as we continue to establish the exact circumstances.

"We have spoken to several witnessed but would still like to hear from anyone who saw the incident take place, potentially has dashcam footage, or saw either of the vehicles just prior to the crash.

"If you saw a white Audi A5 or a white Vauxhall Astra being driven on the A90 around 5.30pm yesterday, please contact us."
