Ellon Athletics Club could be dissolved

Plummeting membership and a crumbling track could spell the end for Ellon Amateur Athletics Club.

The group has been a part of the Aberdeenshire town for 30 years.

Training next to a football pitch has led to some members getting hit by stray balls, but there's nowhere else for them to go.

The club has been forced to turn away adults looking to join, as they don’t have the coaches or training grounds to help them hone their skills.

The future of the club will now be on the line at a crunch meeting on Monday, November 27.

It will take place at Ellon Academy and people can email ellonathletics@outlook.com for more information on attending.
