Cases linked to Aberdeen coronavirus outbreak rise again, confirms first minister

The number of cases linked to an outbreak of coronavirus in Aberdeen has risen further.

The first minister has confirmed there are now 79 cases associated with a cluster in the city, a rise of 25 from the figure she revealed yesterday.

A further 30 cases are being investigated as potentially being linked to the outbreak, while 223 close contacts of those involved have already been identified.

Across Scotland, since yesterday, there have been 67 new positive tests for Covid-19, which represents 1.2% of all tests carried out. Provisional information suggests that 39 of those are in the Grampian region.

Meanwhile Original 106 has been asking Nicola Sturgeon about concerns over whether police could have played a bigger role in breaking up crowds outside bars at the weekend.

We have also asked her whether resources will be deployed into Aberdeenshire, as businesses there say they will turn away people from Aberdeen if they turn up at their premises.
