Aberdeenshire Gritter overturns after hitting frozen floodwater

An Aberdeen Gritter

An Aberdeenshire gritter driver has overturned his vehicle after hitting a patch of iced floodwater, although he has not been left with any serious injuries.

The experienced driver was working last night at Hatton of Fintray, as the council responds to a sharp drop in temperatures in the aftermath of Storm Babet.

The council say he has suffered some bruising and was shaken up by the incident but has not been left with serious injuries.

Motorists in the north east are now being urged to take extreme care when travelling today.
