Aberdeen legend Willie Miller backs Big Christmas Food Appeal

Aberdeen Football Club legend Willie Miller is backing the Big Christmas Food Appeal as he visited the charity CFine.

The initiative, which is ran by The Press and Journal, Evening Express, Original 106 and Energy Voice, are hoping to shine a light on the work many charities, groups and volunteers do around the north-east.

It's aim is to show people where they can get help, tackle the stigma around needing help with food and raising funds to allow these groups to continue their support to the most vulnerable in the region.

Now Mr Miller is giving his support to the campaign with Christmas fast approaching.

Here from him below:

Donations have been flooding in with many drop off points throughout the region.

These include the Trinity Centre. 1MSQ and 2MSQ, Elgin's Moray Food Plus and the P&J's Inverness office in Stoneyfield Business Park.

Tinned goods such as soup, vegetables, beans, meats and fruits as well as cereal, pasta, rice and jars of sauces, UHT milk and toiletries will be accepted.

Meanwhile, Mr Miller was also supporting shopping centre Union Square yesterday afternoon handing out his top tips for Christmas shopping and supporting the local economy.

The 67-year-old said "he was happy to see the shopping centre busy" and hopes it will continue in the lead up to December 25.

He was at the centre on Monday to celebrate five new stores opening within the premises.

We spoke to Mr Miller about helping businesses in the region:
