A96 dualling consultation extended for another three weeks

Members of the public have another three weeks to have their say on plans to dual the A96 from East of Huntly to Aberdeen.

The new deadline for local residents to submit feedback is 8th March.

Transport Scotland has set out a “preferred option” for the stretch of road to be dualled and they say the plans will improve access to the city.

It follows a previous extension of the consultation period by two weeks.

Scottish Government transport secretary, Michael Matheson, said the scheme had attracted “widespread interest”.

He added: “As with all Transport Scotland’s major infrastructure projects, consultation is an integral part of the design process for the A96 Dualling East of Huntly to Aberdeen scheme.

“As we continue to develop the preferred option in greater detail, individuals, communities and businesses affected by the work will be kept fully informed and their feedback carefully considered.”
