A man dies following collision involving stolen car

The incident happened around 6.25pm on Thursday December 30 at the junction of Hilton Drive and Hilton Avenue in Aberdeen.

The 42-year-old driver of a white Dacia Sandero was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, where he later died from his injuries.

The other car, a silver Volkswagen Golf, is understood to have been stolen prior to the crash. The two male occupants fled the scene on foot before officers arrived.

"A family have been left devastated by this incident and this is compounded by the driver leaving the scene of the incident.  The vehicle involved had been stolen a short time earlier and we are urgently trying to trace the driver.

"Similarly, we ask anyone who witnessed the crash or has dash cam footage of the incident or vehicles prior to the collision, to come forward.
