Woman struck by lorry in Aberdeen

A 59-year-old woman has been taken to hospital after being struck by a lorry in Aberdeen.

The incident happened at around 11.40am today (Wednesday, 10 August), on King Street, near Morrisons. The road was closed for several hours.

The woman was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment.

Inspector Scott Deans of North East Road Policing said: “A woman was injured on a busy street in the middle of the day and we are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident

"I would ask anyone with any information to come forward and would appeal to any motorists who may have dashcam footage that could assist with our investigation.

“Enquiries are ongoing and we encourage anyone with information to contact police on 101 quoting incident number 1241 of 10 August.

"Alternatively, a call can be made anonymously to the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
