Motorcyclist taken to hospital after serious injuries following crash in Aberdeen, say police

Police say a motorcyclist had to be taken to hospital after becoming seriously injured due to a crash in Aberdeen.

At around 6.55pm on Thursday (29 September), a crash involved a black Triumph motorcycle and silver Toyota CHR car on the A96 Great Northern Road. Officers say the 35-year-old male rider of the motorcycle was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment to serious injuries. Nobody else was injured. The road was shut  to allow for a collision investigation to be carried out and re-opened at around 3.10am yesterday. Constable Matthew Lawton of the Road Policing Unit in Inverurie at Police Scotland said: "Our enquiries into this collision are ongoing and I would urge anyone with information to get in touch. "We would be keen to speak to anyone who may have dashcam or other footage from the area around the time of the collision. "Anyone with information can call police on 101, quoting reference 2847 of 29 September."
