Motorcyclist in serious condition after crash in Aberdeen

A motorcyclist is in a serious condition in hospital after a crash in Aberdeen.

A KTM motorbike and a Mazda CX-7 car were involved in the collision at around 6.50pm yesterday on Whitestripes Road, at its junction with the B977.

The 36-year-old motorcyclist was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. The male driver of the Mazda and his female passenger were uninjured.

Constable Callum Kerr, from the road policing unit based at Inverurie, is urging any witnesses to come forward. 

He said: "Our investigation into this crash is continuing and I would ask anyone who witnessed this incident, or who was on that road shortly before the crash occurred to contact us. 

"I would also ask anyone driving on Whitestripes Road at the B997 junction shortly before 6.50pm who has dashcam footage to come forward."
