Terms and Conditions
1. Your number is held on our database and will not be used for any purpose other than sending SMS messages related to our snow service and Original 106 FM. We will not pass your number on to any other company or service.
2. Messages sent to the 84555 number will cost your standard SMS text rate (normally 10p or 12p). Messages received from the 84555 number will cost 25p for all mobile networks. All profit (9p on O2, Vodafone and Orange and 7p on Virgin and Three) made from the text charge will be split 50/50 between
CLIC Sargent and
the Archie Foundation. Original 106 make no profit from this service.
3. Snow report texts will be sent out once we receive the information from Aberdeen City Council or Aberdeenshire Council. No other source for closures will be used. We receive this information in good faith from the Council and we can not be held responsible for incorrect information received from them.
4. Messages will usually be sent out between 6.30 and 9am. If a school closes after it has started at 9am, we will not send you an SMS message. We will send messages to let you know if the school is partially closed, if transport isn't running or if the school is fully closed to all pupils. Normally we will only send you 1 message per day per school however it is possible a school will at first close to transport, then partially close, then fully close later on, in that instance you will receive 3 messages. We won't send you any more than 3 messages per day per school.
5. You can stop the service at any time by texting STOP to 84555. This will remove your number from our database along with any schools you are subscribed to.
6. The Snow Text service is operated in good faith and we take great care in insuring an accurate service. We can not be held responsible for incorrect information, delayed texts or missing texts.
7. Users of the service must be over 18 and have the bill payers permission.
