The MET Office is warning Grampian to expect snow and high winds later this week.
Forecasters say cold air coming in from Arctic Canada will affect the area from Wednesday evening through to Friday afternoon.
Drivers are being warned that snow showers, potentially 70mph winds, and the chance of lightning storms will make for very poor conditions.
As much as 5cm of snow could fall across Aberdeenshire, while up to 20cm could lie on higher ground.
The chief forecaster warned, “Snow showers are expected to develop from Wednesday evening lasting into Thursday.
“These, combined with strong winds, could lead to locally very poor travel conditions.
“Be aware of the potential for disruption to transport due to lying and blowing snow.”
