A series of events will take place today to mark the 20th anniversary of Piper Alpha.
First Minister Alex Salmond will be among those attending a memorial service at the Kirk of St Nicholas, which will be followed by an act of remembrance at the Piper Alpha Memorial at Hazlehead Park.
For those offshore a service will be held onboard the Piper Bravo and a wreath will be laid at the spot where the Piper Alpha stood. |
