Emergency crews called to Aberdeen bus fire

Emergency crews were needed to put out a bus fire in Aberdeen this morning.

They were called to Faulds Gate in Kincorth at around 7am, after the driver dialled 999.
Two engines were called from Altens, with one hose reel jet used to extinguish the flames.
The blaze was put out by 7:30am, while fire crews left the scene around half an hour later.
A First Aberdeen spokesperson said: “We can confirm that there was a fire on one of our Service 17 vehicles this morning at Gardner Drive in Aberdeen.
“Our driver ensured that the passenger who was on the vehicle at the time was escorted to safety and the emergency services were alerted.
“The First Aberdeen engineering team have been on scene to work on recovery of the vehicle.
“We have launched an investigation into the cause of the fire.”
