Restaurant of the month: July '09

The Original 106 Restaurant of the Month is brought to you by Grampian Catering Equipment Ltd.

July's Restaurant of the Month is the Four Mile House at Kingswells.

Since being bought by George and Julie Lyon last year, there has been a flurry of activity at The Four Mile House.

December saw the completion of a programme of refurbishment to the Restaurant, Conservatory, Lounge Bar and toilets.

George and Julie, who also own the Ferryhill House Hotel in Aberdeen are delighted with the results and hope that their customers will also be pleased with the improvements.

THE LOUNGE

There is a cosy atmosphere in the lounge, providing comfortable and informal seating for everything from coffees, a drink with friends, pre and post dinner drinks and informal dining.

THE RESTAURANT

The menu truly reflects the wide range and stye of dishes which Head Chef Bob Pyper and his team will be preparing at the Four Mile.  They are dedicated to quality and will only use the highest standards of produce in their dishes, making use of fresh and local ingredients wherever possible.

Bob says "we prepare good food, cooked well, and there is something for everyone from traditional favourites like fresh haddock and steak pie to more elaborate dishes".

In addition to serving the local Kingswells community, Four Mile is also close enough - just five minutes away - and with a huge car park - to be ideally placed for a quick lunch for those working in Westhill.

Also, being just off the main road, it is a great meeting place for business lunches for those coming from all the commercial centres of Aberdeen.  Anyone popping in for a quick business lunch or meeting can be assured of speedy service whether they are having a snack or a full lunch.

Due to the proximity, evenings and weekends see customers coming from Cults, Westhill, Kingswells and the West End of Aberdeen for lunch and dinner.

The next phase of work at Four Mile will see the development of unused space into a conference and meeting room of use by the business and local community.

George and Julie say "As a family owned and run establishment, personal service is paramount and it is our endeavour to create a relaxed, warm and friendly atmosphere for our customers.  We are lucky to have an experienced and efficient team to work with to ensure that all our customers enjoy their visit to the Four Mile House".
