Offshore safety beacons - shock claims made
It's emerged the Civil Aviation Authority were aware of problems with personal locator beacons 6 years ago - but only started to take action a month before a helicopter ditching in the North Sea.
The information has come to light in answers to questions posed by Aberdeen North MP Frank Doran to the Secretary of State for Transport.
It seems the CAA became aware of the interference from personal locator beacons back in 2003 - when BP were trialling their Jigsaw project.
