Future guaranteed for AECC

A deal's been done to ensure the long term future of the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre.
Although bosses vehemently denied reports the venue was close to receivership, it certainly faced financial difficulties.
City councillors have agreed to defer repayment of a multi million pound loan until 2017 and give the go ahead to a new four star hotel on the site.
Opposition councillors insist the Scottish government should step in and offer some backing to the AECC - as it does with similar centres in Glasgow and Edinburgh.
