Death of man in Peterhead treated as unexplained

The death of a 56-year-old man in Peterhead is being treated as unexplained, police said.

Emergency services were called to flats on the town's Longate at about 9pm on Thursday.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police Scotland said an investigation is under way.

A spokeswoman said: “Around 9pm on Thursday March 21, police were called to flats in Longate, Peterhead.

“A 56-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

“The death is currently being treated as unexplained and inquiries are continuing.”
