Man, 33, remanded in custody over ‘hit-and-run’

A man has been remanded in custody after appearing in court in connection with an alleged hit-and-run in Aberdeen.
Lee Cowie, 33, of Aboyne, is charged with multiple road traffic offences over the incident on Monday.
He also faces charges of attempting to defeat the ends of justice and attempting to pervert the course of justice, along with two drugs offences.
He made no plea at Aberdeen Sheriff Court.
A 66-year-old man suffered serious injuries in the incident on Powis Terrace.
Yesterday, 22-year-old George Cowie appeared on petition in connection with the same incident.
He faces charges of attempting to defeat the ends of justice, the possession of controlled drugs and road traffic offences.
He made no plea and was released on bail.
The Police Investigations & Review Commissioner is investigating amid claims the car involved was being followed by police at the time.
