Trade Unions are calling on Aberdeen City Council to be straight with its members over possible redundancies.
The opposition Labour group says outside experts drafted in to help the cash-strapped authority are warning there will have to be significant redundancies to balance the books.
The Transport and General Workers union predicts there will be at least a thousand lay-offs as a result of the £27 million budget cuts.
But Council Leader Kate Dean says the cuts have already been budgeted for and talk of job losses on this scale is preposterous. |
