Family of Aberdeenshire crash victim pay tribute to “loving father, grandfather and friend to many”

A pensioner who died in car crash last week has been named as Eric Douglas.
The 80-year-old from Stonehaven was killed when the white Kia Rio car he was driving collided with another car on the A90, just south of the Aberdeenshire village, at around 6.15pm on Friday, 10 January.
In a statement his family said: “Eric was a loving father, grandfather and friend to many who was well known in the local community.
“We are deeply saddened by his death and he will be greatly missed.
“As a family we respectfully ask for privacy at this difficult time”
The road was closed for a number of hours while emergency services carried investigations.
Enquiries are ongoing into the cause of the crash and police are urging anyone who witnessed the incident and haven’t yet spoken to them to contact them on 101, quoting incident number 2696 of 10 January 2020.
