Aberdeen’s Scott McKenna faces a Scottish FA disciplinary hearing later, accused of “serious foul play” in a tackle in last week’s loss at Celtic.
The Dons came out last night and said they appealed – in the strongest possible terms – the two-match ban authorities handed down to the young defender.
It’s over a tackle on Odsonne Edouard, which ended the Celtic striker’s involvement in the game on Saturday, but was overlooked by the referee at the time.
A club spokesperson commented, “It came as a total shock to learn that Scott has been cited for an incident where the referee deemed there was no offence committed and we have subsequently lodged an appeal.”
