Courage on the Catwalk
“Courage on the Catwalk” and “Brave” 2018, proudly supported by Original 106 since the event’s inception in 2013.
These two events, a major fundraiser for Friends of Anchor will be on the 11th, 12th and 13th May 2018 and celebrates the courage and bravery of north-east men and women who have faced a cancer diagnosis – past and present.
Last year Friends of ANCHOR introduced a new show exclusively for men. Such was the success of the inaugural ‘Brave’, it is back this year with two shows on Friday 11th May, at the Beach Ballroom, to capture the strength of men who have faced the reality of a cancer diagnosis.
24 men from the North-east are set to take to the runway for the very first time and unite together for what will be an evening of real camaraderie to recognise what they have faced and overcome in their fight against cancer.
Courage On The Catwalk
On the 12th & 13th May, 24 women from the North-east will make their modelling debut at Courage on the Catwalk 2018.
Courage on the Catwalk is so much more than a fashion show. The event celebrates the sheer tenacity of women who have faced a cancer diagnosis- both past and present.
Friends of ANCHOR have once again teamed up with Gail Rose and her team at Premiere Productions UK to produce both professional catwalk shows. The selected models are being professionally trained and styled ready for their runway appearance.
If you would like to cheer on the models as they strut their stuff, please direct ticket inquiries to the Friends of ANCHOR fundraising team on firstname.lastname@example.org .
Every penny raised from Courage on the Catwalk will go directly into helping make North-east cancer and haematology care the best it can be for those receiving treatment at the ANCHOR Unit, ARI.
Here are some of the models taking part this year, and their stories…
Sadly, Kathy Parfitt passed away some weeks ago. Her husband Rob asked us to keep Kathy’s message of hope and optimism on our website.
