Councillors vote for new leader
John Stewart will take over as leader of Aberdeen City Council from August.
The move was confirmed at a meeting on Wednesday after Kate Dean was ousted on Monday night by her Lib Dem colleagues.
It was also decided that the social work, education and finance committees will be controlled by the SNP, who run the authority in coalition with the Liberals.
