Council Urged to Come Clean Over Job Losses

The Transport and General Workers Union claims at least 1000 jobs could go as Aberdeen City Council trys to balance the books following the £27 million budget cuts.

Labour councillors say the independent panel of experts brought in to help the authority with its finances are advising the redundancies will be 'significant.'

It follows the highly critical report from spending watchdog the Accounts Commission.

Council leaders say there has been no official reports published yet and they won't comment on speculation.
