Harsh weather has forced Aberdeen’s Christmas Village to close for the day.
The Met Office issued a yellow warning for wind between noon today and 3am tomorrow.
Gusts of up to 75mph are expected along the coast.
The Scottish Environment Protection Agency has also put out a flood alert for Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire, with people told to expect “heavy and persistent rainfall” from this afternoon.
Both of these could affect road, rail, air and ferry services.
A spokeswoman for Aberdeen Inspired said: “Due to the inclement weather, the Aberdeen Christmas Village is closed until further notice today. We will continue to monitor the developing weather pattern and will make a further announcement on its re-opening in due course. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and thank people for their patience and understanding on the matter.”
The SEPA warning said: “Heavy and persistent rainfall is expected from Wednesday afternoon. This will lead to a risk of flooding from surface water in the afternoon and evening of Wednesday and from watercourses from Wednesday evening into Thursday. Impacts are likely to include localised flooding of low-lying land and roads, disruption to travel and difficult driving conditions.”
