Each night at about half past 8 I'll be bringing you a different cover version. You might well know and love it, you might well have never heard it before. If you have a suggestion for me to play, get in touch using the form below.
Ben Nevis is the highest point in the British Isles and stands at the lofty height of 1,343m (4,400feet) above sea level. Macmillan Cancer Support's challenge took us into the heart of the Nevis range, a breathtaking mountainous land; our only goal to reach the summit of Ben Nevis for Macmillan, click above the banner for more information.
On 15th May, members of the Original 106 team including Jenny Longden from News, Jon Quipp (the Eye in the Sky) and I climbed Ben Nevis fundraising for Macmillan Cancer Support...
Let's face it - I'm not the fittest chap around. So here's what I did...
I came up with a list of 48 albums for the 48 days I had to prepare (as of 27/03). Each of those albums one that I can listen to from start to finish without skipping a track. Each of them has a designated day... on that day I went for a walk with the record providing the soundtrack to my walk, helping me prepare for the ascent... click here to have a look at the albums!
Please donate to this great cause now, and help us help Macmillan Cancer Support continue doing their great work.

The web geeks at Original asked me some bizarre questions...
My bed.
Just get out there. If you haven't ever, jump in your car and drive anywhere out of the city. It really is a beautiful part of the world up here, and stick Original on the car radio while you're at it. ?xml:namespace>
What's your ultimate pet hate?
Bad grammar.
If you won the lottery what would be your first extravagant purchase?
A new dwelling of some sort. Elsewhere. Or maybe a radio station. Or a new car.
If your house went up in flames, with everybody in it safe and accounted for, what thing would you rescue first?
My external hard drive, as it has everything on my computers backed up on there. As in, all my music. Actually, maybe the Newborn EP by Elbow. It's rare. Maybe also Starfighter Pilot by Polarbear (now called Snow Patrol) - it's rarer. Or Mince Spies by Coldplay - it's rarer still. I could probably buy half of my record collection back again with those three.
Your fairygodmother grants you the ability to make one thing bigger and one thing smaller on your body. What are you going to change?
I will not dignify this with an answer.
If you could have two guests of your choice on your show, who'd you have?
Phill Jupitus and Stephen Fry, off the top of my head.
What was the first album you bought?
I'm not telling you. Just know that it's embarrassing. Very much so.
First gig?
Lowgold, supported by BraveCaptain and Ballboy... that you'll have heard of? Coldplay.
Last gig?
A couple of my friends, Joseph Bull and David Shanks... that you'll have heard of? Erm, Cliff Richard and the Shadows. I kid you not. I went with my Mum. It was amazing.
What box set is at the top of your DVD pile?
the West Wing.
If you could have written any song in history which would it have been?
Journey - Don't Stop Believin' - everybody loves (loved?) that record. Please note this was written before 'Glee' took over the world.
If they made a movie about your life, who would you want to portray you in the flick?
I've been told I look like Jack Black, so he can have a shot...
Desert Island album, movie, and book.
Elbow - the Seldom Seen Kid (maybe the Abbey Road version with an orchestra and choir...), Almost Famous and Stuart MacBride's Cold Granite, just to remind me of the cold and wet Aberdeen that I'm missing.
You may have heard my chat with Jody Jamieson from www.footballdiner.com all about Superbowl XLIV... below is the video I was talking about, the greatest ever Superbowl play.
