Councillors in Aberdeenshire are due to discuss trialling a new warning system to stop children being killed after they've stepped off school buses.
The 'SeeMe Bus Stop' system - which has been in operation in Sweden for the last 2 years - links an automatic radio ‘tag', attached to a child's school bag, to trigger solar-powered warning lights on bus stops or at crossings, to warn drivers that kids are in the vicinity.
It follows the deaths of Robyn Oldham and Alexander Milne last year - and the introduction of a bus safety bill at Westminster yesterday.
