An Aberdeen City councillor has been suspended with immediate effect after a serious complaint was made against him.
The Conservative party received the complaint about Alan Donnelly, who represents Torry and Ferryhill, on Wednesday.
An accusation against the Depute Provost has also been made to the police.
Councillor Donnelly declined to comment when approached.
A Scottish Conservative party spokesman said: “On January 8, the party received a serious complaint about councillor Alan Donnelly.
“We were also informed that a complaint had also been made to the police.
“As is normal in these circumstances, Councillor Donnelly was immediately suspended from the party.”
